Trump Stopped Law Enforcement Efforts to Combat Foreign Influence in US Politics

Trump stopped federal law enforcement efforts to combat secretive influence efforts by China, Russia, and other adversaries on US politics.

Our Analysis

On Day 1 of her term, Trump's Attorney General appointee Pam Bondi stopped federal law enforcement efforts to combat secretive influence efforts by China, Russia, and other adversaries on US politics. A former head of FBI counterintelligence, Frank Figliuzzi, stated that "...it’s now a free for all for foreign intel services seeking influence.”

This action directly helps our worst adversaries influence us without resistance from federal law enforcement.

Strangely, the disbanded efforts were created during the first Trump administration. This demonstrates how Trump's allegiance to our nation's integrity has changed based on which foreign entities have supported him.
