Trump Let Elon Musk Seize All Federal Workers' Personal Data

Elon Musk and his 18-24 year old staffers were granted full access to the most sensitive personal information of every federal employee and federal job applicants.

Our Analysis

Data such as people's Social Security numbers, dates of birth, salaries, home addresses, job descriptions, and disciplinary records are extremely sensitive and need robust cybersecurity protection.

Trump granted Elon Musk and his 18-24 year old staffers full access to copy and otherwise this data without those staffers being properly vetted for any level of security clearance.

This data will have catastrophic effects in compromising our nation when it falls into the wrong hands, such as those of corrupt officials or countries like Russia or China, and Trump carelessly handed it over to people who have little to no experience with securing it appropriately.

Both sides aren't the same:

What the "other side" did

President Biden made important moves to safeguard the government's cybersecurity and data protections, such as through this Executive Order.

It goes without saying, but he and Democrats simply did not let an unelected billionaire and his young adult interns have unfettered access to federal employees' personal data and Social Security numbers.
